Sam's birthday party

　I went to my junior high school friend’s birthday party last night. Actually we also studied in the same elementary school and senior high school. In other words, I have known this guy for more than twenty years. Of course we were not close with each other for all those years, but sometimes we will still be connected with each other through some occasions, like his birthday.

　In the party, which was held in a large KTV room as a lungh bar, I really felt I am old. Although I am not the oldest guy in that room,I did looked old. And his other friends ordered songs which I have never heard.

　However, when I introduced myself, I found that was my proudest moment because I told them I am a reporter. First of all, they have all heard of my company’s name. Secondly, we had some topics that we all can share even though we did not know each other well.

　Of course, we all know the true situation is that, journalists in Taiwan are working in an awful working environment. Normally they do not have their private lives. They do not have enough money to pay for their bills. But at the same time, you get a lot of chance to explore your life experience which cannot be bought by money.

　I remember there is a good dialogue in the movie “The Devil Wears Prada”. One of the staff told the other, "If your private life does not go well, it means you are working well. If your private life is thoroughgoing break, it is about time for promotion."

　I enjoyed that party even though I did not know too many people there, as they are my friend’s friends in different stage. This party also reminds me that it is about time to change my frame of mind by the time when I join the new company.
